ITAL needed a futureproof, scalable management system that would allow the team to record and view data managing all aspects of their business – from customer profiles through to detailed information about the dangerous goods that they deliver.

Management of customer relationships and suppliers was also a high priority, as well as their growing number of business partners across the world. In order to reduce manual administration, ITAL needed a solution that could handle invoicing and wider financial tasks, with a seamless integration into Sage Line 200 for bookkeeping and accounting. It was also imperative that they could quickly generate dynamic reports using operational and financial data stored within the system.

Yozu designed, developed, and deployed an integrated freight management software system – named FREIGHTsoft – that delivered value way beyond ITAL’s original requirements. Built using Ruby on Rails, it utilises the latest web technologies to effectively manage ITAL’s entire business. Extra functionality was later introduced, including dashboards and notifications; dangerous goods compliance and compatibility alerts; document production and storage; and warehouse management.

A fantastic example of how technology can transform a business to support scaling and growth, ITAL’s partnership with Yozu has gone on to produce 3 different systems managing different revenue-generating services within the organisation.

• ITAL Freightsoft – a fully-fledged operations and CRM platform.
• ITAL Transport – a derivative system of FREIGHTsoft tailored for haulage services.
• HAZculator – an independent SaaS product providing real-time feedback on load compatibility for dangerous goods logistics

ITAL has now engaged with Yozu on a longer-term basis to manage the implementation of new features, and has agreed a joint venture to eventually take the systems to market as SaaS products.
