Introducing Marcus Pindard-Baden, our new Senior Test Engineer.

Yozu continues to bring in talented new faces and our latest member of the team, Marcus, caught up with us to share some things we didn’t know about him including his food guilty pleasure!

What was your favourite childhood movie?

Oooft big question right out the gate! I used to be a big Star Wars nerd but there’s too many films to pick a singular one. Monsters Inc. always had a place in my heart so I’ll go with that.

What is one item you couldn’t live without?

Life would be pretty frustrating without my glasses. I don’t have poor enough eyesight that my life would be incredibly hard, but imagine watching a video in 480p when you know it could be in full HD. That, except all the time.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Baked Beans – one of the only foods that is acceptable for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There’s a tin of “Magic Beans” on my desk that I’m fairly certain is just baked beans, but I’ll never open that so it will forever remain a mystery.

If you were an animal, what kind would you be?

I feel like I made a spiritual connection with a spectacled bear (think Paddington) once whilst watching it at Chester Zoo. It was slouched over hoovering up a mound of fruit, so I’d like to think that bear. Most of my friends describe me as having ‘labrador energy’ though.

If you could have dinner with anybody in history, dead or alive, who would it be, and why?

Tyler, The Creator. His evolution as a artist/musician/person is crazy and he seems hilarious as well.

What unusual or quirky things do you do regularly?

I’m extremely clumsy and have awful hand eye co-ordination so a lot of spilling and stumbling into things daily.

What’s your favourite movie?

Donnie Darko – A complete cult classic. It’s a perfect blend of amazing concept, dark plot, 90s cheese & surprise actor appearances. And the soundtrack is unreal as well.

What’s your unusual talent?

The ability to confidently talk and debate about something that I have very little knowledge in.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what band or music would you want?

The Beach Boys, if I’m stuck I may as well be vibing out.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Japan is top of my bucket list countries for sure.

What’s your biggest guilty pleasure?

Stupidly long video essays on Youtube. They hook me in I can’t lie.

What’s the greatest challenge you overcame?

I lost 13kg over the course of 6 months last year.

How would you explain your Test Engineer job to a 5-year-old?

I tell people they’ve done their work wrong!
