Introducing Dan, our new Software Engineer.

Yozu continues to bring in talented new faces and our latest member of the team, Dan, caught up with us to share some things we didn’t know about him – including a special talent!

What was your favourite childhood movie?

A Bug’s Life is special to me as it was the first film I remember seeing at the cinema. It started off a life long love for Pixar and Disney animated films.

What is one item you couldn’t live without?

A kettle, I drink a lot of tea and coffee.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Definitely lasagne, accompanied by some garlic bread if that’s allowed.

If you were an animal, what kind would you be?

Some kind of cat. Being waited on and sleeping all day seems pretty good to me!

What unusual or quirky things do you do regularly?

Although it’s becoming more and more mainstream, I enjoy playing board games and attending gaming conventions. You can just nerd out and play games all week.

What’s your favourite movie?

Hotfuzz, I basically know all the gags and still find them funny!

What’s your unusual talent?

My fiancée is always amazed by my ability to make friends with random cats. I’m a bit of a cat whisperer.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what band or music would you want?

Not much of a music person, but I do enjoy listening to game sound tracks. So on a desert island I’d like to have the complete Legend of Zelda in concert soundtrack, that would last a while.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Banff national park in Canada during the autumn. Might be going there on my honeymoon!

What’s your biggest guilty pleasure?

Toblerone and chocolate in general doesn’t seem to stick around very long when I’m near by…

What’s the greatest challenge you overcame?

Probably managing to get through university with a decent grade. Turns out physics gets really weird and hard at degree level and I was not suited to it!

How would you explain your job to a 5-year-old?

I make things you can use on your computer and phone!
