Who Are We?

Founded in 2013, Yozu is a rapidly expanding team of over 25 software and UI/UX developers that help SMEs and larger blue-chip corporations around the UK and abroad to leverage technology better within their business. We work closely with our clients to deliver products and platforms that help to transform their business, and have fun developing innovative solutions to complex problems.

We take a mature approach to agile software development; we automate where possible, we’re agile where and when it matters, we work collaboratively with our clients, and we ship often and early.

Technologies and platforms we utilise include: Rails 5, ES6, Java, ReactJS and React Native, CI via CodeClimate and Bitbucket Pipelines, JIRA, Digital Ocean, Google Cloud, AWS, Git and so on!

We require

Enthusiastic and gifted individuals with a proven interest and ability in software development to join our growing team of software engineers. The successful candidate will be helping us develop a number of our products and platforms.

You will be perfect for this role if you are keen to interact with clients from the beginning of a development phase, working alongside a supportive team of junior and senior software development engineers, to produce a clean and effective application.

You should have real-world experience of developing web and/or mobile applications, either in a professional, academic, or personal capacity. Proficiency in languages such as Ruby, JavaScript, and Java is also highly desirable.

Required skills

  • 3+ years of experience of developing ‘full stack’ web or mobile applications, either in a professional or personal capacity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An enthusiastic and motivated personality
  • Ability to demonstrate past code and projects via GitHub or similar
  • Solid understanding of OO principles
  • Natural ability with computers and technology in general
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and diagnose in a sensible and methodical manner

Desirable Experience

  • At least a 2:1 undergraduate degree in a related field or further qualifications
  • Industry experience of developing large-scale software and services
  • Technical experience of:
  • Frameworks and platforms such as Rails, React, Angular, and Cordova
  • Testing frameworks such as Jasmine
  • Automation with tools such as Ansible, Capistrano, or command line scripting
  • Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services Platform, or similar cloud platforms
