Role Summary

We are looking for a QA Automation Tester to join our team based in Liverpool city centre.

QA Automation Testers at Yozu are individuals with a wide range of expertise driven by curiosity, and the desire to find something new, understand the principles of how a system works, and check conformity to expectation. They are able to build and maintain a suite of automated and manual tests using test management tools and source control repositories. They build and maintain automated and manual test suites, targeting native mobile and web applications.

Automation Testers are team players who are familiar with Agile software development processes. The ideal candidate will have a developer aptitude, a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, a scientific approach to testing, and a natural talent for problem-solving.


  • Developing automated test frameworks for native mobile apps and web applications using Appium / Selenium Web Driver or similar and Cucumber / Gherkin / SpecFlow.
  • Maintaining, enhancing and running automation test suites.
  • Creating detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans for manual testing, and executing these manual tests when required.
  • Being meticulous about documentation and maintaining a robust log of all test cases and test results and logging defects appropriately.
  • Providing regular summary reports to the Head of QA on the status of coverage and quality.

Key requirements

  • 2 years’ experience as a QA Automation Tester
  • Strong automation test development skills (C# .Net Core, Java, JavaScript).
  • Excellent knowledge of Selenium Web Driver, Cucumber & SpecFlow.
  • Excellent knowledge of HTML & CSS selectors.
  • Ideally have experience of Appium or similar mobile app automation suite.
  • Have a working knowledge of test management software (TestRail / qTest / Zephyr / Ghost Inspector).
  • Uses REST API Integration testing using Postman or similar.
  • Knowledge of non-functional testing using JMeter / Gatling / NeoLoad / LoadRunner.
  • Able to generate test summary reports and clearly communicate test outcomes.
  • Understanding of Git, BDD, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and deployments.
  • Have a working knowledge of Jira and Confluence.
  • Ideally you will hold a current ISTQB accreditation (or similar) to Foundation level or above.
